# Get voice

Fetch the full details of a single voice by its ID. Use this to check a specific voice — most importantly to poll the `is_ready` flag after starting a clone job. The voice must be accessible to the project tied to your API key (a public platform voice or one of the project's private voices).

## Response shape

Returns the descriptor for one voice.

- **Voice fields**: The same fields returned per-voice by GET /api/ext/tts/voices. `is_ready` tells you whether the voice can be used for TTS yet. Fields: `id`, `name`, `is_public`, `created_at`, `is_ready`.

## Authorization

- `X-API-Key` (string, header, required): your workspace API key.

## Path parameters

- `voice_id` (string, required): The ID of the voice to retrieve. Use a voice `id` returned by GET /api/ext/tts/voices, or a `voice_id` returned by the Clone Voice endpoint.
